Anti-Transgender Legislation:
In an exploration of gender identity, I have been exploring and confronting the anti-transgender legislation that haunts me, combining every single anti-trans bill that has been introduced, engrossed, or passed in 2023 into a single document and a series of projects that form my undergraduate art honors thesis.

In my performance “Hard to Swallow”, I eat a pound of paper pulp. Blended anti-transgender legislation is consumed by the artist over the period of about an hour. 2024 is the fifth consecutive record-breaking year for total number of anti-trans bills considered in the U.S. By passing through a trans body, this restrictive legislation is transformed into art in an act of resistance.
